Divine Will Foundation (Canada) is a service organization based on the universal spiritual values of compassion, kindness, selfless service and love for all irrespective of caste, creed, religion or color. We focus primarily on three areas in upliftment of society; nutrition, Values Based Education and Healthcare.
OUR FOUNDER
Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai is the Founder of our mission of love and service as propounded by Sri Sathya Sai Baba, noted humanitarian, spiritual teacher and philanthropist. Swami (as He is known) is the inspiration behind the work of the Divine Will Foundation (Canada) (DWFC). Sai Baba’s life was dedicated to the upliftment of humanity across all levels. He taught others by His example to work selflessly for the betterment of society; helping others everywhere regardless of any distinctions such as caste, creed, color, gender, age or socio-economic status. His dictum of “LOVE ALL-SERVE ALL” was put into practice through the schools, hospitals, water projects and many other such endeavors undertaken by Sai Baba’s followers worldwide. He embodied the ideals of truth, right conduct, non-violence, peace and love.
Walking in the footsteps of Sathya Sai Baba, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai is instrumental in furthering Sai Baba’s mission by establishing various humanitarian service projects in over 30 countries. Since 2011, he has been leading and inspiring dedicated volunteers and passionate individuals in establishing institutes of excellence in Education, Healthcare, Nutrition and Spirituality across the world to serve humanity. In 2020, He inspired the Canadian team to establish the Divine Will Foundation (Canada).
Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai continues as our mentor, consultant and guiding light. Sai Baba often stated, “My life is My message.” It is our hope that we too will embody these teachings and make our lives such a message.
DIVINE WILL FOUNDATION (CANADA)
DWFC was established in 2020 with the goal of providing and supporting projects that would serve those in need in whatever way possible. It is based on the well-known teaching of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, “LOVE ALL-SERVE ALL”.
While many involved are students of this renowned and revered Spiritual teacher and humanitarian, many are involved due to their commitment to the mission of serving humanity and the planet.
DWFC funds various educational, medical and nutrition programs. The foundation also consults with other individuals and organizations globally who wish to participate in helping those in need in their communities.
DWFC is proud to be part of the Sai Global Federation of Foundations. We regularly collaborate with other like-minded organizations to further our mutual goals.
In addition to providing service to others, DWFC is also focused on the personal transformation of those involved with these projects. We believe that all of us are on a path that leads from I to We to Unity. We see our service work as an integral component of traveling that path. DWFC does not advocate any religion, group or sect, but believes the world is One Family connected by Universal Consciousness.
OUR VISION
At Divine Will Foundation (Canada) (DWFC), we envision a world where transformation is now taking place for the better. We envision a world where people live with a feeling of brotherly/ sisterly love and the Fatherhood of God. We envision a world where people lead pious selfless lives, where everyone’s rights are respected and responsibilities are met with dignity. We envision a world where selfishness is giving way to selflessness, exclusiveness to inclusiveness, miserliness to generosity, hatred to love, and ignorance to enlightenment.
If that sounds like an unattainable goal then one only needs to look at history for shining examples that set out with nothing more than a dream for things that seemed impossible. Imagine Gandhi’s plight; a lone man setting out to gain Bharat’s (India) independence without a single bullet; armed only with a vision. The rulers of the time laughed at his concept of non-violence. Yet the humble idea started by him gained the acceptance of millions of people, one person at a time, and the little stream of an idea became an unstoppable powerful tsunami that brought about a new beginning for a nation of 350 million. His response to when asked to comment on his undertaking was, “Be the change you want see”.
At DWFC, we have taken that first step to being the change we want to see. We recognize as Gandhi did, that transformation of man is not an overnight process. For it to be a sustained lasting change, it has to start from ground up and involves sacrifices to bring about a change for a better future for our children and future generations. Throughout millennia, Bharat (India) has stood out as the land that gave the world spiritual and secular knowledge; it is the land of rishis and avatars; a land even today that is teeming with pious souls and ascetics. In this holy land we had our visionary philanthropist and spiritual master Sai Baba who started this process of transformation through education. With Sai Baba’s passing the torch was handed to Sadhguru Sri Madhusudan Sai. Both of our leaders profess that long lasting change can only take place through “Values Based Education” (VBE) from the grassroots level up. Prashanthi Bala Mandira Schools (PBMT) were set up with this unique blend of spiritual and secular knowledge resulting in ‘Values Based Education’. Under the leadership of Sadhguru Sri Madhusudan Sai the pace of growth has picked up dramatically. Today PBMT comprises 23 campuses with 5,000 students. Much of this has happened in the last 8 years. Our goal is to have one such campus in each of the 600 districts of Bharat (India). Many of our students will go out to other parts of the world and spread the concept of ‘Values Based Education’. We have children from other countries who are resident students of our schools that will also help make VBE global. What is starting today as a gentle stream is gaining momentum and in time will explode into an exponential curve bringing about the tsunami of change that we envision at DWFC.
Most of the children in our PBMT schools come from underprivileged backgrounds. The parents and children are only too glad to receive an opportunity to break out of the cycle of poverty. Because of the hardship and poverty that our children have endured, their hearts are soft at the suffering of others. Their priority upon graduation is for the uplift of their families, their villages and mankind in general. They are our ideal candidates to usher in the change for a new better world that we envision at DWFC.
Our Founder has identified that for young children to study with focus and enthusiasm they need to be properly fed to attend school. Many of the children attending government schools in Bharat are from financially challenged families where having a proper diet is a struggle. Hence, the Annapoorna Breakfast Program was started. The results of this program speak for themselves. In conjunction with this, Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals were started to address a serious deficiency of facilities in addressing Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). We believe that good nourishment, a ‘Values Based Education’ and good medical care are the basic needs for every child that will enable them to become productive citizens of the world and bring about the change we at DWFC envision.
If you share in our vision of seeing a kind, compassionate and an enlightened world, which is not impossible, as we have implemented the means to bring about that change; we invite you to examine and ponder over our well thought out and integrated approach to bringing about the change we wish to see. Of course, it is not going to happen overnight however, the longest journey begins with the first step. We would be happy to discuss with you any questions that you may have. You can reach out to us at [email protected] . Perhaps, if satisfied you would like to take the opportunity to team up with us and be a part of our determined and visionary team heralding this global transformation to a new and better world.
OUR MISSION
Divine Will Foundation (Canada) was granted Charitable status by the Canada Revenue Agency on January 8, 2021. DWFC was established with the goal of providing and supporting projects that promote education, health and elimination of poverty in third world countries. DWFC is based on the maxim embraced by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba of “LOVE ALL – SERVE ALL”.
Divine Will Foundation (Canada)’s (DWFC) primary mission is to ‘Relieve Poverty’.
Poverty has no borders and does not differentiate between class, caste or race. One maybe ‘rich’ but very poor spiritually, leading and empty desolate life. Or, one could be ‘poor’ in the traditional common understanding of the word meaning lacking financially and needy. DWFC’s mission is to relieve the misery and poverty in any way we can for whomever we can.
For now we have started with four fundamental desperately needed programs, with more to come:
Annapoorna Breakfast Program – the basic requirement in life is food. Research has shown, about 37% of our children in Bharat (India) are malnourished. Studies have shown that it is hard for a child to study on an empty stomach. DWFC has allied itself with Sri Sathya Sai Annapoorna Trust to nourish the rural poor school going children in Bharat (India).
e1e1 Program – The chances of the rural poor of Bharat receiving world class education is minimal. A ‘values based’ education can not only help the child break the cycle of poverty, but he or she would have a ‘compassionate’ approach to life. While learning the secular skills of life to earning a living, emphasis is placed on leading a compassionate human life with a ‘we’ approach’ instead of a ‘me’ approach; that is instrumental in raising the standards of living of their family and village. The Prashanthi Bala Mandira Trust (PBMT) schools have a unique ‘Values Based Education System’ which is revolutionary and introduces an integrated spiritual and secular approach to life. DWFC has joined hands with PBMT to support children learning in PBMT schools.
Sai Sanjeevani Program – Every year in Bharat about 250-300,000 children are born with Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). Many die before they even reach their teens. CHD is primarily a ‘poor man’s disease’ as it is caused by maternal malnutrition. DWFC has teamed up with SSS Sanjeevani Hospitals to help pay for the cost of the much needed heart surgeries and procedures of these poor children so it is free for them. In so doing not only do we help the child, but relieve the pain of a mother who is witnessing her child dying in front of her eyes, we save the pain of a father who feels helpless to save his child and we spare the brothers and sisters of the child of a lifelong memory of a dead sibling.
Our fourth program is to inspire as many people to participate with us as we can to fight this scrooge of poverty that unleashes misery on untold millions. If we are united, we can defeat this. There is a Chinese proverb, “If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.” By helping others, we ‘educate’ ourselves in transforming ourselves to becoming compassionate global citizens.
DWFC is members of the Sai Global Federation of Foundations (SGFF.com). This federation comprises of several like-minded organizations globally. For maximum efficiency we work with intermediaries that have a similar mission aligned with our purposes.
DWFC does not advocate any religion, group or sect.
We make no distinction as to who or where we serve believing instead that:
There is only one religion, the religion of love
There is only one caste, the caste of humanity
There is only language, the language of the heart and
There is only one God and this God is omnipresent
